OCTOBER
  • 1 October - Finterest 10.30 am AEST Native Fish Showcase Webinar Series weekly during Threatened Species Month - this week features the Stocky galaxias, a critically endangered species that resides in only 3km of stream habitat.
  • 6 October Earth Science Week is 10-16 October but kicks off early on the 6th @ 11AM with a 1hour sneak preview the new GA Science Plan 2028  hosted by Geoscience Australia - more about ESW here
  • 7 October - Early Childhood Australia BeYou is inviting early childhood educators to a Zoom Meeting to continue conversations about sustainability which were started at the recent national ECA conference : Collaborating for Sustainability - Be You (national) Connected Community - RSVP to Shona Doyle and Margaret Ross 0499 300 331 2-3PM AEDT

AAEE 4th Biennial Research Symposium and AAEE 21st Biennial National Conference are 22 and 28 September The Research Symposium is online from 11 am AEST just $50/student $25, great value, followed by the Conference 28/30 September, W.A now also fully online Tickets for two days, $133.50 per day for members, less for students. Online tickets available until 28 September. This event is a great learning and networking experience and this year showcases Western Australia's wonderful environmental education. Register at the conference website https://aaeeconference.org.au. AAEE scholarships for rural and regional education students - conference fees paid!

The Australian Association for Environmental Education (AAEE) – through the generous support of the Arthur Thyne Reid Foundation – has scholarships for teacher education students from rural or remote areas in each state and territory. Each scholarship recipient will receive three years of membership with the AAEE and $400 towards attendance at our National and/or State conferences, including the upcoming WA conference. Members receive access to the Australian Journal of Environmental Education (Cambridge University Press), a highly ranked international journal; quarterly newsletter OzEEnews, monthly E-Bulletins, Webinars and connection to a local state or territory AAEE group.
