Threatened Species Childrens' Art Competition






The Threatened Species Childrens' Art Competition (aka TSCAC) helps children unleash their artistic creativity while learning about the extinction crisis facing our native plants and animals. The organisers say their aim is to encourage the next generation of environmental leaders and is run each year in ACT, Victoria and New South Wales. 


About the Threatened Species Childrens' Art Competition Education

√ Primary (5-12)
√ Secondary (year 7 only)

  • Eight categories of first and second prize winners for 5-7 year olds, 8-10 year olds and 11-12 year olds.
  • Special categories of Most Unusual Entry, Best Plant entry, Best Group-work Entry, Best Local Entry.
  • A separate prize will be awarded for the best written explanation or story of the work.
  • A number of Highly Commended awards are also given.
  • No cash prizes will be given, prizes include art equipment, expert art lessons for winning schools, gift vouchers, books, and passes to wildlife venues such as the National Zoo and Aquarium, Mogo Zoo, Taronga Western Plains Zoo / Taronga Zoo and Featherdale Wildlife Park.
  • All prize winners have their work displayed in subsequent exhibition and online.
