Circular_CBR is an initiative of the Commissioner to foster the circular economy in the ACT through targeted engagement and practical research. New reports and information will be released in 2020.

The circular economy aims to do more with less, reducing consumption, eliminating waste and creating value. It measures resource efficiency - or urban metabolism - when applied to an entire city.

More than half of global anthropogenic warming emissions arise from making the materials and products we use - this is the 'embodied carbon' and 'embodied energy'. The circular economy is one way to reduce embodied carbon/energy, by keeping products in use longer.
